Durarara!!
One "Du", Three "ra"s, two exclamation points. All awesome.
A Dullahan who's lost her head (literally) tracks it to a Japanese city rife with gang violence and corporate intrigue. Trading in her traditional mythological horse for a black motorcycle that leaves impossible shadows, she begins to wade through the muck to retrieve that which was taken from her.
Despite how jaded the anime industry has left me, I was genuinely impressed with Durarara!! Though the Dullahan is the main character, most of what the viewer sees is from the perspective of other residents of the city. Seeing events unfold from different angles and different times provide for immersion unheard of in recent animated fare. As action goes, it can get pretty intense. Usually when Shizuo Heiwajima is involved. Finally, the plot twists. Oh man. For obvious reasons (read: spoilers) I can't say much, but there is a lot more going on than everyone (except maybe Izaya Orihara, the local information broker) realizes.
...so yeah. Discuss it here when you've seen it.
Spoiler tags, use them if necessary!

1: This sounds like a really cool show, and you did a great job of explaining it, and summarizing it.

They work like so (click it, requires javascript to be enabled for the forum), and I propose we format them as such:
Episode X: (discussion containing information gained in episode #X or earlier)
Episode X: (discussion containing information gained in episode #X or earlier)
- Spoiler:
- Here be spoilers! This way, you can talk about later events without people accidentally seeing it.

Re: Durarara!!
How do you get them to work can you just put anything in brackets and do that?

Yep. I don't know if this particular forum software limits the content you can put in them, but it should let you put whatever you want inside a spoiler tag.

Oh, no. Then it's not a spoiler tag, it's something else. Like [ b ] [/ b ] makes things bold. The brackets denote formatting options, many of which can also be accessed through the buttons above the reply box (clicking the buttons puts the codes in automatically, which doesn't always work like you'd expect it to).

Re: Durarara!!
Can't say I do... I don't watch many AMVs. Here is one of the opening sequences though:

Ignore the german subs, I just picked this video because it edits out the previous-episode-recap that is part of the opening. Because, spoilers.
edit: and here is the ending/credits, which has been parodied endlessly by the internet:
